This woman is far stronger than her mom will ever be. Her mom put the responsibility of parenting her siblings, made the decision to send her off to the Caribbean to then have a relationship with her but couldn’t give her daughter the support at this point her life. That’s so pathetic. Even though I don’t encourage teen pregnancy and that is definitely a big struggle, moms can feel scared of that but there’s no excuse to discard your daughter when she did your job for you as a parent when she should’ve been a kid. I’m glad this girl pushed through to pursue her education, I hope she’s doing well with her son. 💖

But what bothers me is how Muslims (being one myself) are heavily guarded by government rather than treated like any other person. I mean, Muslims (and even the entirety of Africa to an extent) have enslaved EVERYONE who wasn't like them (Brits, Jews, the Irish, etc.) but we barely address the fact every part of the world had their fair share of slavery.

My parents are Muslim and I say this: I understand that you've been treated like shit, but I ask: Why do people who simply received severe prejudice in the past get heavily guarded rather than simply treated like a regular human? I mean, aren't all men created equal?
